BEST WISHES The Sudanese members have started their own Knights of Columbus Member Council. We wish them the very best in their Council work. SEMINARIAN GUEST SPEAKER Nick Michels spoke at the business meeting in July regarding seminary life. He is very grateful for the scholarship money that the Knights of Columbus have provided for his education. Nick stated that letters from children and people from home mean a great deal to him during his studies towards priesthood. South Dakota is very fortunate to have a large number of seminarians for such a small populated state. The Knights of Columbus continue to provide educational support for the seminarians from South Dakota. There are programs in place which help fund this process. The Bishop’s Burse and Adopt-a-Seminarian continue to serve as a financial means of support for these individuals. Thank you fellow Knights for your on-going support of the priesthood. GOLF OUTING The golf outing was held on July 23rd. It was a great success. Thanks to John Schreurs for planning this successful event. We had sponsors for all nine holes. Many door prizes and raffle prizes were given after the golfing was completed. The Mark Anderson Wildlife Print was won by Randy Zwart. Dan Ballard donated a teeth whitening system which was won by Bob Zwart. The Faini Designs prize was won by Diane Olsen. Total proceeds raised from the golf outing totaled approximately $3,500. The winning golf team was: Kurt Doeden; Duane Mergen, Brad Jurgenson and John Schreurs. Congratulations to all the winners.
