River Landing

C Co., 2nd Battalion, the 199th Light Infantry Brigade.

HQ for the 199th Light Infantry Brigade was in a fishnet factory on the river near Saigon. Their mission was to prevent infiltration of Saigon and defence of bridges. They had four infantry battalions, one artillery and one support.  I.O. Officer Maj. Anderson thought an ambush patrol by one of their companies would depict their mission for us. The Brigade photographer took us to the pick-up point on the river. C Company, 2nd Battalion loaded onto four boats and headed south. We landed and split up.
