Army doctors and nurses played a big part in the Pacification Program. While on assignment with a MEDCAP visit to a local village at Binh Zum with the 61st Medical Detachment I watched a doctor at work with two specialists and an interpreter. They were expecting hundreds, but only a handful showed up. An old man had a tooth pulled and a baby with sores on his legs got shots.
