South Dakota Plein Aire Artists Plein air artists are looking to network and share experience in paint outs at a variety of locations across the state of South Dakota each year. Artists in the state generally want to network and share experience. This web site works pretty good, and artist pages are available at a minimal cost. When I applied for the combat artist program, I submitted examples of my watercolor sketches and my batik paintings. I think the batik helped sell my work.
