On August 29, 1968, 1st Platoon, C Co., 2nd Battalion, 199th Light Infantry Brigade, was ambushed south of Saigon. I was there and in this painting I tried to freeze the action in a circular arrangement of figures– each working independently and as a team– doing what was necessary to fight. Action was deliberate and controlled.  The 199th knows how to fight.
