The Board of Directors of the South Dakota Water
and Wastewater Association has established a financial aid
scholarship program to benefit the children of the members of
the SDWWA. A scholarship committee has been appointed by
the SDWWA president. The goal of the scholarship committee
is to raise a minimum of $10,000 to be placed in an annuity.
The interest will be drawn from the account on an annual basis
and awarded as a scholarship. The ultimate goal of the
committee is to raise $20,000 for this purpose. The
scholarship will be known as the SDWWA Annual Memorial
Scholarship. The scholarship will be open to all children
of SDWWA members who are attending a post secondary educational
institution. The scholarship committee will, on an annual
basis, award the scholarship in honor of a deceased member of
the Association who has made significant contributions to the
Association and/or the water/wastewater industry. By
initiating this scholarship program we are giving back a little,
and showing support for the families of our water and wastewater
professionals who have given so much in the pursuit of
excellence in our industry.
Contributors to the SDWWA Annual Scholarship
fund will be recognized and acknowledged in relation to their
level of contribution and as permanent record of the
Association. The levels of contribution are:
