| Welcome to my Home Remedies Page. The remedies in this page are either the ones that I remember from my childhood or are those that I've learnt over the years and use these home remedies now for my day to day needs. |
| To avoid a constipation, increase your dietary fiber and eat plenty of green leafy vegetables, and a banana or a thick slice of ripe papaya at night. |
| For relief from acidity take one piece of clove and chew on it in your mouth for a long time. |
| For quick relief from itching, make a fresh paste of some neem leaves and apply externally. |
| Ginger is effective in relieving gas and cramps in the stomach. Ginger paste also helps relieve headaches and pain. |
| For strengthening the hair roots and getting rid of dandruff, Massage your hair with warm coconut oil and apply the juice of 2 lime, and leave the oil on for about 2 hours and then have a shower with a mild shampoo. Repeat 2-3 times a week. |
| For relief from throat irritation, gargling 3 or 4 times a day with a tbsp of table salt mixed with a glass of hot water. |
| The juice of the Sweet basil can be used to bring down fever. |
| 2 Garlic cloves taken daily in the morning, is very good for lowering high blood pressure, cholesterol, acidity. It also acts as a blood purifier. |
| A mixture of ginger and onions, taken with honey, helps vomiting and nausea sensations. |
| Chewing on Anise seed makes your breath fresh and removes strong odours. |
| Cut a lemon into thin strips and dip in salt and eat it before meals to prevent heartburn. |
| Biting on a clove or rubbing clove oil on the tooth cavity itself will relieve the pain. |
| Eating raw onions twice a day will help to clear stuffed nostrils resulting from cold. |
| Drink Cranberry juice as it has the ability to reduce urine acidity and is good for Urinary Tract Infection |
| For cure from bad breath, chew some cardamom seeds. |
| For relief from night coughs honey in a glass of hot milk before bedtime. . |
| Turmeric boiled in milk with pepper corns slightly powdered and taken internally relieves coughs and colds. |
| Eat papaya on an empty stomach early in the morning and do not eat anything for about an hour for good health. |
| A peppermint steam inhalation provides quick relief for sinus headaches. |
| For relief from common cold, drink ginger tea or a tsp full of ginger juice taken with 1 tsp of honey. |
| To reduce cholesterol drink 1 Onion juice in the morning and it also cleans blood, improves digestive system. |
| To reduce bags under eyes, use cold used tea bags or cucumber slices to relieve them. |
| For relief from cough and cold, apply Vicks Vaporub or Amrutanjan on the soles of the feet at bedtime, then wear socks and sleep. |
| Raw or cooked cabbage inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Hence, it is of great value in weight reduction. |
| For relief from tired and weary feet soak your feet for half an hour in hot water to which a little sodium bicarbonate has been added. |
| Yoghurt contains live bacteria which is good for digestion, It is a good souce of calcium and is helpful against osteoporosis. |
