Jost Bürgi
(1552 - 1632) [J. Byrgius] became Rudolf II's (1552 - 1612)
watchmaker in 1604. In 1610 he compiled logarithmic tables which Johannes
Kepler himself relied on. He also made astronomical instruments,
sundials and armillary spheres.

Coronelli ~ 1690
Vincenzo Coronelli
(1650-1718) made the globe in 1690 while he was in the employ of Louis
XIV of France. Coronelli's work includes more than 100 large and small
globes that have survived, several hundred maps, printed separately
and as parts of atlases.

Akerman ~ 1759
Anders Akerman was the father
of globemaking in Sweden, producing his first globes in 1759. The
celestial globe was made by Anders Akerman in 1759. Note the
constellation Reindeer in the upper right corner of the stamp.
