Cuba 4069

In 2000 Cuba issued a stamp commemorating Che Guevara's revolutionary activities in the former Belgian Congo, now Zaire in 1965. However, the map on the stamp is a map of part of the former French Equitorial Africa, which became independent in 1960 as the People's Republic of the Congo or Congo-Brazzaville to differentiate it from the Belgian Congo or the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Rwanda 1-8

The Belgian colony of Ruanda-Urundi became independent in 1962 as two new countries, Rwanda and Burundi. The first stamps issued by Rwanda showed the continent of Africa with a silouette map of ... Burundi! There were eight stamps in the set, all with the same error. One stamp is shown. Another error is the spelling of "Independence." No corrections were issued.
