(1506-1552) St. Francis Xavier

St. Francis Xavier is also known as Apostle to the Far East. One of the founding Jesuits, and the first Jesuit missionary Priest to join Ignatius Loyola in forming the Society of Jesus. Born in Spain on April 7, 1506, Francis Xavier died on the Island of Sancian near the coast of China, December 2, 1552 at 46.
In 1540 he was appointed a missionary to the Portuguese East Indies. He made a trip to Goa, India for Jesuit administrative purposes and he preached in the street, worked with the sick, and taught children their catechism and seemed to have converted the entire city. His missionary work for ten years was very successful in India, the East Indies, and Japan thus baptizing more than 40,000.His Sacred Relics is in Bom Jesus Basilica, India.
Prayer: Dear Saint Francis, please pray to God for me and ask that I may live and die in God’s favour. Please ask God for me for (here ask for what you desire), provided, of course, that this would be good for me. In the end, my only wish is for whatever gives glory to God and is good for my health in body, mind and spirit.
