AV-6 is a high performance, low cost video scaler for up-converting  multiple video signals from any AV/Composite or S-Video sources into high definition signals up to 1024x768 progressive scan output, supported by all LCD/TFT monitor & projectors via VGA port.

The VGA loop-thru feature allows users to have the extra option to switch between Video & Computer mode even though the operation of this unit requires no computer running at all. 

Its frame buffering technology can significantly increase the quality of images by doubling the standard video lines and converts the standard NTSC or PAL video signals from 15.75KHz up to 31.5KHz horizontal scan rate and provides SVGA and RGBHV outputs for LCD/TFT, HDTV monitor or projector displays with D-sub 15 pin inputs.  The brightness will be significantly increased and the flicker dramatically reduced.

This unit supports 3 inputs ( 1 Composite+1 S-Video+1 Computer VGA in) so you can connect one  A/V input, one S-Video input and one VGA input together at a time.  Video channel selection and controls  are made by the push buttons. Each input has its own associated Stereo Audio connection. You can now have all of your video sources using S-Video or A/V output and computer screen hooked up all together into this unit without switching around cables or unplugging them every time to switch to different video devices.   

Automatic movie image format switch & universal 3:2/ 2:2 pull-down support for both NTSC & PAL conversion from film modes. The built-in video processor implements a special scan doubling & quadrupling technique to optimize the conversion of video made during the pulldown process. This will provide a better image than simply applying normal scan doubling or quadrupling techniques. Transferring Film to Video mode with increasing field rate high enough for a flicker free moving image. The use of interlaced fields reduces flicker without reducing resolution. 

3-D Motion-adaptive interfiled de-interlacing

This unit also adapts the most advanced forms of de-interlacing technology available. It helps minimize jagged edges on angled lines. Motion adaptive de-interlacing combines the best aspects of both Bob (linear spatial) and Weave (linear temporal) technology by isolating the de-interlacing compensation to the pixel level. Where Bob/Weave and VT processing effect the entire frame of video, motion adaptive de-interlacing (as implemented on the DRC Stream hardware) processes each pixel independently, resulting in the highest quality image possible. Areas of no motion are statically meshed (weave) and areas where motion is detected are treated with a proprietary filtering technique resulting in very high quality, progressive scan images.
