Photos From the 2004 U.S. Transplant Games in
Minneapolis-St. Paul John received a kidney transplant in October of 1975. John participated in the1K bicycle time trial and 20K bicycle road race. 2004 Transplant Games. 8,000 people were at the opening ceremonies. Ken Howard and Jim Cunningham, President Bruiniks from the host University of Minnesota, Governor Tim Pawlenty, Fred Brown and Dr. Brian Pereira of the National Kidney Foundation, Sean Elliott, Larry Hagman, and Dr. Joseph Murray, who performed the first kidney transplant in 1954 spoke, Opening Ceremonies at Hubert H.
