Team in turmoil as manager goes MIA
The Colorado season is almost sunk, and it seems that manager Homer Simpson wants to raise the ante on his players' fate.

Simpson hasn't been seen at or around the ballpark for the past three weeks, and the teams' upper management doesn't seem to want to do anything about it.

"Mr. Simpson has been gone for some time now," a team PR spokesperson said. "We will continue to put the team in as good of a position as possible to be successful until his return, at which time the ownership will decide upon a course of action. In the interim, Mr. Ned Flanders has been appointed team manager and will carry all such responsibilities of the position."

Flanders' first games as interim manager were at home against archrivals New Mexico, where they lost three of the four games.

"Heck, I thought our guys played very well," Flanders said. "I can only hope that Homer is finding his savior right now, I'm going to try and lift these guys up, and we'll see if they win some softball games."

Flanders has ceased all alcohol sales in the stadium and has instituted daily 6:00 a.m. workouts for his team. The tidings are not so good in Colorado, since the MIRVs still only have barely more than a full major league squad.

Colorado hits first slide of season
The Colorado MIRVs started their season better than anyone expected, taking three games in their home-and-home against Nashville to open the season, and holding first place in the west heading into last week's games.

Then Homer and company went to Albuquerque to face their nemesis, the New Mexico Aliens. The MIRVs lost the first three games of the series, but strangely, and this may have something to do with Lusk's return, the MIRVs didn't seem as upset as usual about it. Even the team owner who didn't make the trip with the team wasn't swearing nearly as much as normal after a series like this.

"Lusk is great," manager Homer Simpson said. "He gave me this glowing donut.....Mmmmm, donuts."

Simpson was unable to complete a coherent thought the rest of the time. We're told he should be fine by the time the team gets to Buffalo for next week's series. He may have to remain grounded for a day. If that is the case, Ned Flanders will take over the team for the first game of the series.
